(UTV|COLOMBO) – Police have launched an investigation for arresting Beliatta Divisional Council chairman Cyril Munasinghe charged of assaulting a person.
Police said that by now he had fled the area.
Police said that the council chairman had assaulted the UNP member of the council during the meeting held at the Divisional council auditorium yesterday.
The assaulted councillor has been admitted to the Tangalle Base Hospital for treatment.
